Neil Blanchard Designs offers bespoke DIY speaker kits—purchase the build manual and matching cabinets, each available separately through his website. Blanchard presented his Tower 4T4 Mass Loaded Transmission Line Speakers; its build manual is $200. Accompanying 18mm‑thick Baltic Birch cabinet panels, which Blanchard calls Flat Packs, cost between $525–$625, plus shipping. Choose your own drivers and dial in the sound you prefer. His Super Tower prototype speakers were also in the room.
Post‑show, Blanchard wrote "The mid-woofers in the Tower 4T4 are the Dayton Audio TCP115-4s, a treated, paper‑cone, 4 ohm driver. The tweeter in the Tower 4T4 is the SB Acoustics SB26STCN-C000-4—a fabric‑dome, 4‑ohm driver with a neodymium magnet.
"My crossover parts have 'good/better/best' lists in the build manual—the demo pair you heard have the 'better' mid-level parts," Blanchard continued. "All inductor coils, at all quality levels, are air core, and all capacitors are metalized film.
"The Super Tower prototype speakers use the same SB Acoustics tweeter, and a Satori MW16P-4 Egyptian papyrus cone, 4-ohm midwoofer with a neodymium magnet. The crossover is at the 'better' level: ClarityCap CSA caps with Mundorf EVO Oil bypass caps, and Goertz 14 AWG copper foil coils. Once I confirm that they have good response in the crossover region, they will be published: $300 for the build manual, Flat Pack price TBD."
Geshelli Labs products were also present, including the Dayzee DAC ($1850), soon to be replaced by the Torc DAC ($2499); Geshelli Labs Giuseppe Preamp ($2499); and the world premiere Geshelli Labs class-A/B Z-BLOK push-pull monoblocks ($2499/ea.), which offer 280W each.
Cabling was by Pine Tree Audio, including Scorpion ($140/2') and Iso-Braid AC ($65/2') cables, Rainbow Ribbon speaker cables ($110/6ft pair), Banshee USB ($50/1') cable, and SPC AES and XLR ($220/2') cables. An AnTek 1500VA isolation transformer ($195), Pine Tree Audio Iso-Power filters ($225), and a custom NBDesigns rack completed the system.
Blanchard embodies the thoughtful precision of a classic science educator. With quiet authority, he explained the methodology behind his designs—I listened intently, taking notes.
His speakers delivered swift, fluid dynamics, immersing me in a richly detailed, resonant soundstage. The presentation was bold yet precise—resolved, decisive, engaging.
