Thank you for the chance to win.
Small, compact and visually unique, Monitor Audio's Studio 89 is an uncompromising loudspeaker capable of filling large rooms with pristine sound. It benefits from a host of cutting-edge Monitor Audio innovations and is born of the same Transparent Design Philosophy as the statement Hyphn.
Studio 89’s topology ensures that even in large rooms, the soundstage, imaging and detail levels are completely enveloping and remain true to the ethos of bringing ‘studio monitoring quality’ into the home. This is in no small part down to the ’point source’ MTM (Mid-Tweeter-Mid) drive unit configuration.
The MTM positions the latest MPD (Micro-Pleated Diaphragm) III high-frequency transducer between twin RDT (Rigid-Diaphragm Technology) III 4 ¼” bass-mid drivers. The twin driver cones are made up of three ultra-thin layers to ensure rigidity and strength. A C-CAM (ceramic-coated aluminum magnesium) outer skin sits over a Nomex honeycomb central core with the underside skin made up of a woven carbon fibre. The result: super lightweight and very, very strong.
A highly optimised third-order crossover ensures the perfect frequency response across each drive unit for total symmetry, which helps control sound dispersion. The resulting high-fidelity sound is of a scale and quality that belies Studio 89’s size.

Monitor Audio are some of the best sounding speakers out there...
Much appreciate the chance to win yhis great gear.
These are some beautiful speakers
I am surprised at how quickly I got used to the unusual appearance of these speakers. I suspect that if I had them, the background process that runs in my head that sometimes asks "How soon can we get rid of this?" would not inquire about these speakers.
Those are a some spicy meatballs!
Love to have these with my tall/narrow servo subs as stands. Another speaker with Folded/Ribbon/Planer type tweeter with "benign HF loads", great for Class-D (blue trace https://tinyurl.com/2cz6xjnu ), it's defiantly the way to go for me after living with ESL's all my life, yet without all the hassles that esl's have
Will there be a review on a pair??
Cheers George
Lovely speaker, time for an upgrade
Looking forward to receiving my new speakers!
Would love to hear them. MA makes very nice gear.
Pick me, I need new speakers.
Man, I know those babies can rock, and I haven't even heard them.
Here for a chance, thank so much!!
They'd look even greater in my living room!
My new turntable needs new speakers!
Would be perfect in my studio.
Thanks for the sweepstakes!
for me. My current speakers are barely adequate.
Would love to integrate these into my system!
Please send this pair home to England !
Thank you for the opportunity to participate. These loudspeakers from Monitor Audio look awesome. I am sure that's the way they sound, too.
These would look great in my listening room.
Will be a beautiful pair with my first turntable I will buy for my 31st birthday in 7 weeks :D
My first foray into British speakers was the B&W 601S3. I loved the airy highs, but soon tired of the suckkout in the midrange. I replaced them with the less expensive MA Bronze 1 with glorious midrange. I then had the Silver4i, which was a big step up and one of the prettiest speakers I've ever owned. I no longer have either, but that's a story for another day.
I've been a huge MA fanboy for decades and I'd love to have these.
They glossy striped ebony finish on the Gold and Platinum series is the most stunning finish I've seen on any speakers
Thank you for the chance to win! Fingers crossed!
Is my favorite speaker gear - high quality at a fair price. Great Sound!!
I never win, but y'know...!
I would love to upgrade from my bronze b2's, thanks for the giveaway!
Would love a pair in my living room.
I could look, and listen, to those all day long! I have an old pair of Gold 2.5s (front ported) that these would be fun to compare against.
Love the look of these speakers. Look forward to hearing them soon
Thank you for a chance to win these Monitor Audio speakers.
Looks like a wonderful new stand mount from Monitor Audio. Thanks for the chance to win a pair!
Those will make bluey more fun to listen to
I have and love my pair of Silver 100 7Gs. They punch way above their price point. I'm sure these are even better.
I've had and have loved my REF 702 PMCs since 1999 - adding a set of 89s to the studio would be amazing!!! Winning or not, thanks for the opportunity!!!
Jane, stop this crazy thing!!
I’ve had a pair of Silver RS6’s for years and they’re still my fave. Would love these 89’s!
Would love to have these set up in our home!
The answer is the same as for bikes: n+1.
Would love to hear these in my home.
commenting for the sweepstakes :)
Nice looking modern speaker.
Thanks for the opportunity to win a pair!
Very handsome speakers. Would love a pair
What would I replace with these? The EPI 100s in the main upstairs system (rebuilt with Human Speakers components 10 years or so ago)? The Optimus Mach 3s downstairs with the TV (which only sound good when herself is out of the house and I can crank them up a little)? The little Altecs on the computer (the leading contender, as long as these beasts don't need a lot of power that the little Class D amp can't provide). Please make me decide? You know how...
Recently parted company with a pair of Monitor Audio GX100s due to a move. I would love to try the Studio 89 in my new study.
I've been looking at these speakers for a while! Thanks for sharing
Would absolutely love these!
They somehow manage to be both refined and powerful, like James Bond in a tuxedo and a tank!
What GOD cannot do does not exist. Studio 89 is a game changer in the music industry.A special monitor and a special producer will only leave nightclubs and live performances in astonishment. It's time for the world to listen to heavenly beats. With this pair of speakers, I will not only elevate but also my customers will roll along with me. Thank you very much Stereophile for this great opportunity.EL-ROI has done it for me.YES IT IS DONE.
I bet they sound amazing I can't wait to find out :D
I would like to hear them soon.
Thanks in advance for the speakers!
I would like to enter the sweepstake.
Thank you!
Nice gesture for some awesome speakers.
The review makes these speakers seem awesome. I could use a new pair!
Commenting for a chance to win!
Pros
+ Pristine presentation
+ Impressively seamless and robust sound
+ Excellent build and finish
+ Compact
Cons
- Need care in partnering
- These are small speakers but they work best with space to breathe
As for Monitor Audio's Studio 89, they are talented and engaging performers that excel in clarity, precision and resolution. If you are looking for high-quality speakers at this level, though, you have to listen to the KEF R3 Meta, Neat Petite Classic and the Monitor Audios before deciding.

This would be a glorious win!
Current owner of the bronze series and I like the monitor audio sound. Wonder if these are tall enough to be ear height without stands on a desk. If so, do I need to mitigate vibration with something between the desk and the speake?
Far from being my favorite hi-fi company these days, for reasons that will remain secret, I'll still take them if given to me.
Those are certainly sharp looking!
At the recent Seattle PNW audio show I heard Monitor audio speakers for the first time. I was very impressed with them. I would really like to hear the Studio 89's.
Thanks for the opportunity! If these sound as nice as they look, they’ll be amazing.
Thanks for the opportunity to win these amazing speakers!
Sorry I sold them and I would love to replace them with these!
The MTM configuration of the Studio 89 look like great fun. Hope to hear them soon.
Looking forward to hearing these.
