I would love to be able to listen to them
Register to win a pair of Chesky Audio LC1 Bookshelf Monitor speakers (MSRP $996) Stereophile is giving away.
Introducing the LC1 Bookshelf Monitor – Bringing Hi-End Audio to New Audiences. The Ultimate Hi-Fi Bookshelf Speaker, crafted to set a new standard in sound quality. Using a high density polymer cabinet, the LC1 embodies the sound of a speaker 10 times its size. Amaze yourself with this ultimate listening experience.
Superior audio quality is evident in every aspect of the LC1. Opting for a hands-on approach, no printed circuit boards are used; instead, each crossover is meticulously crafted by hand. The speaker features a unique breakthrough cabinet construction that ensures pure sound output without any interference. Some uber expensive high end speakers with costly cabinets have shown just how important a non resonant structure is to achieving a superb sounding loudspeaker. For the LC1 Lucca Chesky has developed a new breakthrough concept in loudspeaker cabinet construction. This little, under one cubic feet loudspeaker, is extraordinarily inert and dead.
The LC1 is equipped with top-of-the-line components including High Quality film Capacitors and high-end audiophile internal wiring, all connected with silver solder for the clearest signal path. Two 8-inch fluid coupled subwoofers, tuned as you would a transmission line, dramatically augments and improves the quality of the bass response, extending it deeper than any typical speaker of its size can reach.

I would love to be able to listen to them
Interesting concept for a standmount.
I'm in! Enter me in the sweepstake.
Curious about trying this approach to speakers!
I want to hear those bad boys in my listening rooom.
curious about the cabinet material & manufacturing process
They will be mine, they will be mine all mine!
Always interesting to listen to smaller speakers that punch above their weight!
I am a 73 year old audiophile that has been priced out of my only hobby.
These might be a wonderful addition.
Good luck for this nextgeneration speaker!
Matched passive radiators?
Be nice for JA to bench test these babies
Cheers George
I would love owning these!
A impressive next generation Chesky.
Cool stuff, would love to test these out!
I have the perfect place for them
I bet these sound awesome
These would make a wonderful addition to my office. Thank you!
Looks like a genuinely interesting design, actually.
I feel like these will be a seminal design like the Spica TC-50 was in the day.
would love to find out exactly how cool they are!
Enjoyed reading the background on the speaker development. Hope they will be available at Axpona next year.
These speakers might be awesome. Hope I win them.
50Hz - 20kHz, catering to a wide spectrum of sounds.
Huh. Who knew one could cater to wide spectrum of sounds?
Sensitivity 83 dB at 2.83V/1m
Do you really want to brag about this?
With no recess, spades are not going to fit well to those posts either.
Someone asked what the design on the front represents? It is to help
with diffraction. Clever, Good job!
I'd love to pair these with my Vinyl Nirvana Thorens 160 Super!
for drawing so much dedicated attention and public advocacy to a precocious speaker designer
Impressive. At his age, my speakers were two drive-in movie theater speakers hooked-up to my Grandmother's Fisher Stereo.
Interesting design, it flexible in terms of boundary placement?
I look forward to hearing these in a large room
The passive radiator reminds me of Definitive Technology speakers.
Would like to know more about the design of the sculptured triangles on either side of the tweeter? Random shapes?
interesting, are they also sold in Europe?
Would love to have them on my small room setup
These look really nice indeed. I can see a lot of power is needed to support this big sub drivers (83db/m).
are exactly what I have been looking for! Please choose me!
What an awesome opportunity for a new inductee into our crazy obsession to experience what it's all about, and I know just such a person who this would thrill.
Would love to hear these groundbreaking new speakers.
I’m very interested to see the internal cabinet layout as conventional practice suggests that there is too much driver area for this size of box.
I would love to hear them in my lounge which is quite small.
Curious how the bass performs given the small form factor.
I want to try them out.
And I'd love to be part of it.
Interesting. I built up a new high end subwoofer recently (12" Fi Xv3). Curious how the LC1 would sound with it.
I have just the spot, and my Mini Gan 5 amp to have them sing & dance.
An interesting and promising loudspeaker concept. I would love to listen to it at home :-)
But I'll need a new amp to go with them; 2 watts isn't going to cut it!
Would love to give them a listen
I'd like to give them a try on a large desk.
Pequeños y potentes. Quisiera escucharlos.
I’d like to listen to Chesky music on Chesky speakers.
Count me among those eager to learn more about the Chesky Audio LC1 bookshelf speakers. The combination of a high-quality driver complement, a unique cabinet construction, and an accessible price point is potentially a game-changer.
I wish I could hear them through my computer.
We all need to support the young talent in this industry in order to pass on the gift of great music to the next generation.
This entry reads more like an ad with constructor claims and 'proprietary' words and with no proof. Shouldn't we wait for a real Stereophile review before all these accolades and claims, especially with John Atkinson's measurements.
For example how is a 'transmission line' tuned? It can be tuned like a bass reflex(passive radiators!) or with lots of damping like a Dynaco A25 aperiodic loading. But this small box can never act like a transmission line using it's length with damping to absorb frequencies above the mid bass.
it looks great. I want to listen it!
I'd love to give them a try at home. Here's hoping!
you know for one's office.
Curious about how they'd sound in my place!
They were set up as nearfield when I heard them, and were pretty incredible.
I cannot wait to hear my music over these very capable speakers.
Luckily, I deserve them more.
If it says Chesky it must be goooood!
Interesting concept and intriguing design. Would love to try these
Interesting design, Would make a cool addition to my system.
They'll fit. Believe me.
I wonder if they would be perfect for a desktop nearfield system.
IIRC, I asked Luca (the designer) this question, and he said they would work. I suggest hopping on his website and emailing him - he is VERY responsive.
I heard these speakers at the CAF show in Rockville MD last month, and was VERY impressed. Not just for the money, but relative to everything else at the show. I would say Luca’s room was one of 10 “must listen” rooms. Very excited to see these, and if I don’t win them I may get them! Luca has done an amazing job - not just for a first effort, but for ANY effort.
Interesting design. Low sensitivity though.
They'd replace some much lesser speakers I have now.
I'd play some Chesky recordings over the LC-1's first thing to test them out! BAM! Ana Caram!
Would love to win these.
I like free stuff.
Would love to set these up in my bedroom.
I can't wait to hear the LC1s in my system.
I heard these at CAF and they sounded great! I can't wait to see what's next! Great job Lucca!
