Jacky Lee, CEO of French manufacturer Revival Audio, presented a fine system that included an Electrocompaniet ECM 1 MKII high-end DAC and music streamer ($5800, all prices approximate when converted from Euros), an EMC 1 MKV Reference CD player ($7300), an EC 4.8 MKII Reference preamplifier ($5700), and Electrocompaniet's AW 800 M Reference stereo/monoblock amplifiers ($24,000 each).
Lee's Revival speakers, which I'd previously heard in the rooms of US distributor Tone Imports, included the new Atalante 7 Évo (about $10,000/pair with stands), and the Atalante 5 ($2700/pair; stands $430).
Cabling was courtesy of SH Audio Creation. The loom included Câble RCA Série Emotion Signature interconnects ($1230/pair), HP Emotion Signature speaker cables ($2250/pair), a Numérique Coaxial MK2 Série Emotion ($420), and Secteur Série Emotion power cables ($750). Assos Woodworks racks completed the setup.
The new Atalante Évo 7 loudspeaker is a three-way design using a 1⅛" soft dome tweeter, a 3" soft dome midrange driver, and a 15" Basalt Sandwich Construction (BSC) woofer, with a stated sensitivity of 90dB (2.83V/1m) at 6 ohms.
Every encounter I've had with Revival speakers has impressed me thanks to their natural sound, excellent tone, and deep bass extension. A proper review is in order.
