ONE for the Money: Brinkmann’s Bold New DAC

The Nyquist ONE DAC ($21,990) debuted at the show. The company employed common superlatives to describe the product, calling it "a complete reimagining of our Nyquist series of digital-to-analogue processors," and promising that it offers "a vastly improved power supply and new circuit board layout."

The current Nyquist will be discontinued, but all future digital modules will be compatible with previous Nyquist models. Expected availability for the ONE is October 2025.

Brinkmann also introduced new color options and OLED displays as standard across all components. Starting in September, the TraNt power supply will be included with all turntables.

The Brinkmann system included the aforementioned DAC and a Taurus direct-drive turntable with 12.1 Tonearm and RöNt power supply (retail package price $28,790). Sold separately, the Taurus direct-drive turntable retails for $20,490, the 12.1 Tonearm for $7590, and the TraNt power supply for $3890. A Pi cartridge ($4990) was also in the system.

An Edison MkII Phono Preamplifier ($16,390), Marconi MkII Preamplifier ($16,390), and Mono power amplifiers ($21,990/pair) drove Trenner & Friedl RA loudspeakers ($23,500/pair) and, at other times, that same brand’s ART speakers ($5400/pair).

Shunyata Research supplied the cabling and a $32,600 Everest power distributor. Harmonic Resolution Systems contributed the stands, including a $6500 M3X2-1723 custom base for the Brinkmann Taurus ’table.
