I'll probably be taken to court for telling you this but I received a very nice Christmas e-card from Linn this morning. How thoughtful (especially since I forgot to send them one).
I would love to share it with you but my lawyers have advised me against it. Here is the disclaimer attached to the card:
I know several folks here use M-Audio Delta series sound cards so this is just a heads-up that a Windows Vista 32-bit driver was finally released on Monday (better late than never, eh?). See below for the list of cards this supports.
Note the interesting surgeon general warning about DTS pass-through not working, one can only speculate what this means for bit-perfect transfer of uncompressed 2-channel PCM audio.

I think I've narrowed the integrated amp questions down: Creek 5xxx or Atoll IN 100? Of course, I've heard nothing but great things about the Creek, but almost none about Atoll. Seems like people who love the Atoll sound swear by it, but many seem unimpressed. I listen mainly to classical (a lot of early music & contemporary) + jazz & indie.
The speakers will be Infinity P162s. The source: Oppo, until I can afford the Rega Apollo.
I have a 20 odd year old Linn Sondek LP12 that seems to be needing repair. Suddenly getting all kinds of distortion. I have tweaked what I am able. I assume at one point I should bite the bullet and investigate the Music Hall products, until then though. Does anyone know of a competent repair place in Brooklyn, or NYC? I hate the idea of having to ship this animal. Thank you very much.
