Sealed With A Union Jack

I haven't listened yet, but I'm already happy. I'm fighting the urge to just set the stuff up right here, right now, in my office.

The Exposure 2010S integrated amp and CD player arrived today! And you know how it is when packages arrive in the mail. A guy gets so used to receiving nothing but collection notices and dreary bank statements, that whenever anything else at all shows up on the hallway banister, it's like Christmas during a New York City heat wave. Even if it's only a card, it's enough to get you all giddy with "For me?" and "WTF is this?"

So, when Porter, our mailroom attendant, called from the reception desk, "Stephen, one big box just arrived for you. It's definitely going to require a hand truck," I happily raced upstairs.

I sliced through the packing tape and pulled open the cardboard flaps to find the amp and CD player inside, each housed in its own very good-looking container. For a second, I thought I was opening a box of Ben Sherman Ramones. White, with the Exposure logo flowing across each side, decorated with red dots, and sealed with a Union Jack, these containers definitely contribute to that whole pride-of-ownership thing. [Manufacturers should take note: Spend a little time and money on making your packaging look good. We have a lot of this crap hanging around our homes. It'd be nice if it could all look as nice as the Exposure containers. Brown cardboard is boring and ugly.]

Cut through the Union Jack, lift the flaps, and you find a very well-secured piece of gear. Before you can get beneath the cardboard inserts, you'll notice a full-color "Quick Start Manual" filled with bright pictures and easy-to-follow instructions. This is good stuff. Exposure takes care of all the little things, creating a pleasurable, fun, and exciting experience right from the start. I can't wait to get these new toys home.
