On this particular subject, I suggest that you also look at Earl Geddes' "Multisub" subwoofer technique. It dovetails with Welti and Devantier, with some significant differences. I would further suggest that you consider interviewing Dr. Geddes on the subject matter, as that might be both interesting to you and enlightening to your readers. Geddes' circa 1980 Ph.D thesis was on the subject of acoustics of low frequencies in small rooms in the modal domain, around and below the Schroeder frequency, so he has been involved with the subject matter for some while.
