I'm looking at a dual-bay CD recorder so as to make compilations to listen to in the car and on my walkman. I want a dual-bay because it will take the place of my CD player-transport and then I can run the digital out to my Meridian DAC. Sort of a fancy cassette deck.

If by favorite, you mean what pieces do I want the most, that is easy. A BAT VK-6200, a pair of the Aerial 20T, and a Outlaw ICBM. Strange list, I know, but it should make for interesting conversation.

Compact Disc, because it is cheap, great sounding, reliable and everywhere. CD is a reality, SACD and DVD-A are still only a dream!

My Tube Integrated Amp (VAC Avatar). Never found musical happiness until I went tube (Bryston, Carver, MacIntosh, etc).

mp3. No other recent technology has brought such a radical change in the way so many people listen, share, copy, and store their music.

ARCD3 or Mufi 3D. Thanks to Fremer I am now listening to Duke, Webster, Anderson, Blanton on a DEFINITIVE system. My dream now is to hear them on the player listed. Still my Proceed does a good job.

Digital input amps, aka DAC+power amp in one. Digital audio formats should stay digital long as possible. hint hint, Meridian!

Apple Macintosh OS X has audio built into its core! Once the programs get upgraded (and some new ones come along), the integration of audio and computing will be seamless.

SACD is my favorite.

The record player! It may not be new, but it still rules! And it may outlive SACD and DVD-A!

I still haven't found what I'm looking for . . . .

DVD-A / SACD has potential, but suffers from implementation problems due to the lack of a standardized digital output. Please review the article I wrote about these issues at: http://audioholics.com/Industry/Dvd-sacd1.htm Very few hardware companies and audio magazines address these issues. My email address is: gds@audioholics.com

Still SACD, but I also am playing heavily with AC line conditioners like the HTS 5000.

The power regeneration products from PS Audio. I purchased the PS600 last summer, and I remain astonished at the improvement that it has made in my stereo system.

I'm looking into phono stages right now. I'm discouraged that sometimes the cd of the same recording sounds better then the lp on my system right now.
