Here's our final report from the New York Audio Show. Thank you to everyone who watched our previous videos, all of which featured Herb Reichert (left above in JA's photo) and gave us feedbackpositive and otherwise. We started making these videos as a response to feedback, and will continue monitoring feedback to help improve our future videos.
In this video, we join Stereophile writer Herb Reichert as he explores the 2017 New York Audio Show that took place last weekend at the Park Lane Hotelthis is the first of three videos covering the show. We're particularly excited about this series of videos for two reasons: First, viewers have eagerly been asking us to hear systemsnot just see them. We've wanted to share that with viewers, but we wanted to do it right by creating a binaural recording, for playback over headphones.
In this video, we visit Tyll Hertsens, Editor of Stereophile's sister site InnerFidelity.com, in Bozeman, Montana. Tyll is a connoisseur of headphones and portable audio products, and is somewhat of a YouTube sensation within the headphone community. (Truthfully: Having spent most of my "early audiophile" years experimenting on headphone mods and lurking on headphone forums, I'd been watching Tyll's headphone review videos long before I ever knew about Stereophile's existence.)
In this Reviewer Video Profile, Jason gives us a tour of his listening room, introduces us to his adorable dogs, and shares some thoughts on life. Ohand, of course, this video would not be complete without a little whistling!
Day three began with me feeling sick and beaten down. I needed to pay a visit to the doctor. Dr. Vinyl. (But also probably a real doctor, too.) Jose Ramirez (aka Dr. Vinyl) always knows how to make his listeners feel at ease.
Overheard in the hallway:
"Babe, can you please buy me that cable?"
"But I just bought you so much for your birthday !"
And just like that, day two begins.
