Remarkable how a few folks get obsessed with taking shots at Ethan W. Goodness - is there a way to count the number of times that the name Ethan comes up in posts by persons X, Y, and Z? It must be 1000's of times - they seem fixated. Y'all don't have to agree with him, just post your opinions - but the vehemence of the personal attacks and insults is off-putting and certainly undermines whatever arguments you are putting forth. And I think it detracts from the atmosphere of the forum.
Hi
Just ordered new 80 GB ipod with airhead amp and Sennheiser 450 phones, looking forwards to using it on next long flight.
My question is what should format should I be copying my CD's into ? im very technical just not familair with all the latest formats. I thought it was lossless but apparantly there a better method in Media player 11 thats wider bandwidth.
Also is there an easy way to rip vinyl straight into an Ipod compatible format or do you have to use a soundblaster and music editing software ?
Thanks
Alan
I just finished replacing all my one-meter ICs with AP's Solo Crystal Oval Interconnects. The run between my CDP and integrated amp is fully balanced and the runs between the TT and integrated and integrated to headphone amp are RCA (unbalanced). Of course, the TT/cartridge is grounded to the integrated chassis.
Wow! Now this thing is cool! A new app for $30 you can download for an iphone which uses the built-in microphone and hardware to turn it into a portable a real-time spectrum analyzer and oscilloscope. For those that have an iphone it's a quick and convenient way to do basic room analysis or measure equipment. Snapshots can be saved at will and saved for later. I have not used it seriously yet, but so far it seems to work very well and is very sensitive.
