That's the amplifier topology Pass markets as "SuperSymmetry" and which produces high performance with balanced symmetric feedback and minimal gain stages.Pass has marketed SuperSymmetry amplifiers since the 1998 introduction of the X-1000, a 100Wpc amplifier that employed only two gain stages: differential input transistors driving complementary power output transistors.
"The beauty of the design lies in the combination of power and simplicity," said Nelson Pass. "We believe that the highest quality sound is achieved with a simple gain path."Asked what TI wanted to do with the technology, Pass took a pass, commenting, "There's not a hell of a lot more information I can impart, as I cannot speak for TI's plans." In other words, stay tuned—TI might have some very interesting announcements coming down the pike. Are you experienced?
