"You know, Mr. Stephen, I'll be coming to you for help with my new blog," Robert warns me.
"No problem. I'm happy to help."
"How often do you post?" he asks.
"I try to post one entry a day."
"I'd like to post something tonight," he continues, "but I'm not sure I'll have time. I'm not sure that my piece is completed and ready to be posted."
"Well, you know, with the blog, I find that I can start and stop anywhere. It's not really necessary for an entry to be a fully explored and fleshed out idea. This works really well for me; I'm full of little ideas, but lack conclusions, or I just don't know where an idea is going to go. I've always had a hard time with beginnings and endings. So, I'll often just post what I can. If it doesn't feel done, I'll come back to it the next day, or I'll let the readers help me. Often, their comments lead me to some other area that I hadn't explored. And that's what I think makes the blog form really beautiful. It's alive and fluid; a kind of collaboration, a discussion."
"Maybe you're right, Stephen. Will you be here for awhile?"
"Yeah."
"Alright, we'll work on it in a little bit."
"Cool."
