Fun evening with David Wilson and his new speakers

Forums

One of our local, high end retailers (Ne Plus Ultra) put on a demo of David Wilson's new Alexandria and Duette loudspeakers this evening, with Wilson discussing his thoughts on loudspeakers and audio.

I won't make this a long, drawn-out post on the whole evening, but a couple of things that I found noteworthy are:

Audrey Hepburn was thin too, beautifully so.

Since I enjoy the pleasant luxury of ignoring DUP's posts, I can only suppose how this "thin issue" discussion began. I didn't notice the page count, and so far I've been too busy to give much attention to this month's content, but I couldn't be happier with what I have given attention to.

The letters always come first for me. I found myself making mental notes structuring a rebuttal to Rick Lee's somewhat disjointed comments on Larry Borden's "Truth vs. Beauty" only to forget them on seeing that Mr. Borden had done the job for me. Good show.

Jersey City Love Songs

On the corner of Monmouth and Third, in the parking lot of the Genesis Educational Center, <a href="http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=317+Third+Street,+Jersey+City,+… the blood lines erase the color lines</a>, a drummer needs practice. I wasn't expecting this. It might interfere with our listening session. The bad beats are hopping into my third floor window and making themselves comfortable, crowding the sweet spot. The singer, it seems, needs practice, too. And is that a preacher hollering the gospel, or a drunk abusing his wife? Around here, one can never be certain. Perhaps it's both...

HD-DVD vs. Blu-Ray vs. DVD vs. DRM

Help me out here because I'm just a wee bit confused.

First let me outline my present understanding of DRM (digital rights management) as it relates to DVDs and then as it is supposed to related to HD-DVD and Blu-Ray discs. After which I'll explain why I'm confusion.

On all commercial movie DVDs the data on them is encrypted to prevent copying. The data encryption scheme in use was broken not long after the first DVDs hit the shelves and people have been copying them ever since. So much for DVDs and DRM.
