Anyone have any experience with them? I've been looking at their R series. From what I've read they are quite good. Just looking for some feedback from any REL owners.
A cabal of record labels—including Arista Records, Warner Bros., Capitol, and BMG—have taken legal action against the Russian music site allofmp3.com, charging that the site offers their music without having received permission. The suit, filed in federal court in New York, is only the latest step in the war against the Russian digital download site.
Two days after reaching $1.5 million settlements with the states of Texas and California over its knuckleheaded attempt to prevent "unauthorized" use of its CDs, Sony BMG agreed to pay another $4.25 million to an additional 39 states and the District of Columbia in what has become known as "the rootkit debacle."
Horowitz once said, "Not everything is a competition." The truth and importance of that statement notwithstanding, my nomination for the best Christmas album everyone must hear is "A Carnegie Hall Christmas Concert" Sony Classical CD 1992.
The new Era Design 4 review includes using two Sub 10 subwoofers. Why two? And if it is has to do with the rather high cross-over frequency, I wonder if a single subwoofer coupled with the Design 5s (which go a fair bit lower) might be a better value overall?
There's almost no gray area when it comes to Christmas music. You either love it and feel it's charming, or it's a holiday plague that you endure, cringing instinctively every time a bell jingles and someone wants a "figgy" pudding.
What does the impedence look like at the low end of a speaker that uses a powered woofer? Do they load the input of the amplifier and just waste power to create a uniform load or since most amplifiers are a low impedence voltage source do they just let the impedence increase at the low end?
