Best sounding 1984 14 Bit

So goes all that high bit rate etc. In the early years, Philips had a 14bit (I had this player from Employee store, highly discounted). It was built like a TANK, first one in U.S. made in Belgium, stuck Magnavox name on it, instead of Philips. Same machine. And the original golden ears, said it sounded best, yet it was only 14 bit, when others where 16bit. Maybe Zander needs to get this original OBSOLETE chip and come out with the Zander MKII. Less bits, better sound. Don't need no stinkin' specs, just more distortion.

Physics still matters, small sucks, big is in

Forums

No matter what the ads say, ya can't make big sound with small speakers, that's why it's a BLOSE, and any other undersized speaker, even the overpriced small ones from those high end names. Ya can't beat mother nature or PHYSICS. Small woofers don't move air, and when they do they DISTORT. Guess who has it right, BD at Legacy for one. Read this.

What can I do to improve sound quality?

Hey guys, I'm in need of some input here. I just ripped a CD in Apple lossless format, and put it on my ipod. I had the same CD ripped in MP3 format at 128 kbps on the ipod also, so I could do a side-by-side comparison (the album was Alice in Chains' self titled album, full of clean acoustic guitars, harmonized vocals and intricate drumwork). I did the comparison using my Etymotic ER4p's, and then using my Shure E5C's.

Multi channel amp for B&W 805S

Hi
I just purchased a pair of B&W 805s. I am planning to make a home theater (This may take 2-3 yrs) but donot have enough money for it right now. I would like to purchase a multi channel amp. Krell Showcase 5 channels vs bryston 9b sst are the ones I am considering. I donot have any other speakers right now. But plan to get a HTM4s and CM1s as the other speakers later.

I would like to know which of these go well with my speakers. If there are any other multichannel amps, please do inform about them also.

Thanks
Babu

<A HREF="http://www.artsjournal.com/postclassic/2006/12/merry_christmas_from_ahn… Gann has posted Schoenberg's Weihnachtsmusik for our Christmas bliss. If you think Arnold never wrote a melody you'd like, take a listen to this gorgeous setting of "Lo, How a Rose E'er Blooming."

Because nothing says Christmas like marimbas and wild bass! BTW, if the marimbas look backwards, it's because the clip was designed to be projected in one of those film jukeboxes, where they were in fact viewed from the other side.
