New to forum, new to turntables

I'm new to the vinyl tradition and hoping to break ground, at least intellectually. I have a set up that may give some people heart attacks-- but please bare with me as I have little knowledge and even less money.

I'm currently running a Concord BA-600 through a cheap stereo with a signal booster.

But I'm really just looking to start learning about true audiophiledom.

Like Spreading Caviar On A Hotdog?

Last week, on our homepage, we asked:

"Should an iPod dock be considered a standard component for a high-end audio system?"

The question seemed appropriate due to Krell's release of their KID iPod dock. The results were interesting, with 56% of our respondents saying No (or Double-No!) and 41% saying Yes.

The comments were nothing if not passionate (and often funny). For instance:

"That'd be like spreading caviar on a hotdog!" [Sounds good to me.]

Need Information

I am looking to purchase a system to run my outdoor speakers. I am not an audiophile, however I am trying to get the most bang for my buck. I am looking at the Bryston B-100 SST C series as the integrated amplifer and adding another amplifier to this integrated amp so that I can run one set of speakers to each amplifier for a minimum of 150 W per channel to each of the speakers. I am running Mirage Oaisis 6 outdoor speakers and love the sound quality that they put forth, however I am looking to upgrade the source as well.

Funk Jazz: Two Reviews

Forums

If you like albums like Herbie Hancock's Thrust and Headhunters then you are going to love two CD's that sound as full and rich as they are funky.

The Best of Bad to the Bone is a collection of great songs from this funk group established 10 years ago in New York. This is funk jazz with a combination of sounds that will may have your subwoofer knocking down some walls ! I had to turn my hi-fi down a couple of knotches but the sound coming from my Paradigm 100's blew me away.
