Speaker and Interconnect Recommendations

Big time newbie. Also not very smart. Need rec's on speaker cables and interconnects. My setup:

PSB Alpha T1 Speakers
Onkyo a 9555 amp
Onkyo dx 7555 CD
Rega P1 Turntable

Speaker cable might have to travel some distance, like 14 ft or so. Also, as you can see, this is not the most expensive setup out there, so I need something reasonable (maybe ca. 200 or less) or is that reasonable?

Thanks, Josh

This review should have appeared more than a few months ago. When I reviewed Linn's Troika cartridge back in the Fall of 1987, in Vol.10 No.6, Audiophile Systems also supplied me with a sample of the Linn LK1 preamplifier and the LK2 power amplifier, which I had intended to review in the due course of things. As it transpired, however, I was less than impressed with the LK2, finding, as did Alvin Gold back in Vol.9 No.2, that while it had a somewhat laid-back balance, it also suffered a pervasive "gray" coloration, which dried out recorded ambience and obscured fine detail.

VSAC 2008 For Everyone

After a four-year hiatus, the Vacuum State of the Art Conference and Show has been resurrected. Scheduled for next weekend, May 24–26, at the Hilton Hotel in Vancouver, Washington, just across the river from Portland, Oregon, VSAC owes its renewal to audio enthusiasts and software company owners Carolyn S. and Michael Kilfoil, who have taken over from founders Dan and Eileen Schmalle.

NIN - more FREE download news

Over at the Hydrogen forum, some of the members discovered the 24/96 waves were actually 16bit padded out to 24bit. So they let Trent Reznor and the NIN community know about it on or about May 7th. The NIN camp, surprisingly, responded back on the 8th. They said they were sorry for the mix up, would correct the problem and re-post the waves. Well, on the 14th, they re-posted the 24/96 waves and in addition 24/96 FLAC files. Let it never be said Mr. Reznor is not a standup guy. Here is a copy of his statement on the Hydrogen forum from the 14th.

Energy C-6 Question

I have a pair of Energy C-6 Connoisseurs that I picked up for $100. I think this was a pretty good purchase, since they blow my Kef Q-50's out of the water. But my cat destroyed the tweeter in one of them, since they have no grilles. Is it worth replacing? If so, can someone recommend a good replacement? I'd obviously be replacing both tweeters. Maybe these speakers suck, and I should just save for something better. If that's the case, my price range would be around $300-500 Any help would be appreciated.
