Golden $uper Gode$$

These miracles of science, are in the "other" magazine, and of course they are truly magical, and of course worth every penny of $4,000 for 4 spade lugs!!! And of course was so audible in improving things, blah blah blah. Isn't anything in audio land over priced crap? When it gets reviewed? No specs, no nutin, but they say upfront, they will review based on science. Yeah, the "science" of marketing BS. What won't an audiophile not beleive? Wonder if Parts Express has the Dayton branded versions for like $4.95 ea? No Bybee inside, just the metal.

Some of the old audio names, such as Eico and Pilot, are gone. Others—Fisher, AR, KLH, H.H. Scott, etc.—have been rendered meaningless by corporate mergers and acquisitions. Yet more than 50 years after their founding, McIntosh and Marantz, arguably the two most prestigious names in American high-quality audio electronics, survive. The products they make today are probably closer in spirit to their original classics of half a century ago than at any time since the early 1970s.

Hi-pass filters

My car stereo has a hi-pass filter built in to the amp/tuner (Pioneer). As a result, the bass - with sub-woofer - stays tight over a large dB range. My home subwoofer systems need to be tweaked for each source and sound level to avoid boominess. Is there a similar hi-pass filter I could put in the amp output channels to avoid boominess, without sacrificing quality?
