Turntable physics conundrum.

Aloha,

I've been playing with my motor orientation (... ...) on my Michell turntable for nigh on 23 years, and still have a slight conundrum.

I use the motor mounted "front left" instead of "rear left" and think it sounds better that way, but I can't quite wrap my brain around some of the reasons I have heard for it.

Music Hall is fond of claiming that front left motor mounting is superior, saying of it:

Best DAC Section. Grace m902 or CA 840C

I generally do not start "What should I buy" threads, because many people, understandably, haven't listened to a huge number of components, and may have a tendency to recommend only components they happen to own themselves. Or they will make recommendations based on reviews or opinions from others. Plus no one has my ears, fortunately.

But, assuming I haven't offended everyone, I'm asking for opinions (or even guess

WaHooooo - Finally I have clean, pop and click free records!!

Just received my 1st record cleaning machine and WOW what a difference. I purchased the Nitty Gritty Record Master 1 and spent some time tonight cleaning a few records.

The grand daughter joined in to help and then let me spin up a few of the clean LPs. Amazing how quiet these cleaned LPs became. I tried a lot of hand cleaning methods but nothing compares to this. I'll now be spending the rest of the night with the Greg Almann, Berlin, David Benoit, and possibly some Ramsey Lewis.
