My roommates blew out my B&W DM 302s. Quote the guilty: "We had a party last night and the speakers started to smell and then stopped working." Great. They've agreed to kick me $250, which was the retail price back in '98 when they first came out (I picked them up for $50 from a friend of the family). These were great speakers and I'm sad to see them go, but this unfortunate episode does give me a chance to upgrade (I'm moving to my own place in June so I won't have to worry about my equipment being trashed). I've got a budget of about $400-500.

Much more noise. The sort of noises that tells you where the recording was made and who stood where. The good kind of noise.
I added a fourth PS Audio Noise Harvester.
For years I thought no matter what I did to the system and the room I would always ultimately hear the vague outlines of my room imposing itself on the recording. With these in place, my room consistently dispappears and the venue comes forth. Amazing! I've heard numerous AC products and these are IMO special.

Dire Straits; Love Over Gold, Remaster CD
A classic that benefits from the remaster. Like DSOTM a disc you should have at least two copies of and preferrably one vinyl and one CD. $7.99 in the clearance bin at B. Dalton.
Music: 5
Sound: 5

Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown; No Looking Back CD
God! How's he get that band to play like that?! This is tighter than Basie or Ellington. No one swings the blues like Gatemouth. There are time signature changes here that I can't keep up with. Very, very unpredictable and utterly enjoyable!

That would be about 60% of the people of California, Iraq, South Africa, and the "some uh the people out there in our nation don't have that, such as..." Including good looking women from the south that eventually migrate to Southern California.

I'm the brother. Which one are you?
Travel restrictions to Cuba, special privileges for some citizens?
From the news:
"The response came days after President Obama lifted all restrictions on the ability of American citizens to visit relatives in Cuba as well as to send them remittances. Travel restrictions for Americans of non-Cuban descent will remain in place."
Wow, so now there's a genetic type of citizen based on ancestry?
Those with relatives in Cuba can travel there, but not me?
That's legal, eh?

I posted some comments under Stephen Mejias' blog entry regarding the Gizmodo article on Mr. Fremer. Here's the link, as I am concerned that not a whole lot of people will see it
