The only thing VTL has done in the past 10-15 years is raise their prices on their existing product line to ridiculous levels.
VTL and Wilson have delivered great sound at previous shows, and they did so again here in a set-up of which Peter McGrath, Brand Ambassador for Wilson Audio, was especially proud: VTL’s MB-450 III Signature monoblocks, TL7.5 III Reference preamplifier, and TP6.5 II.
A Signature phono preamplifier joined a dCS Rossini Apex DAC and Rossini clock, Wilson Sasha V loudspeakers, VPI Avenger turntable, and Nordost cabling. To get an idea of the size of Audio Reference’s space, note that this was but one of at least six listening areas in the room.

Disagree. I have the TL 6.5 II preamp with many sources, including a DCS Rossini Apex. One does need to put better tubes in them. The stock tubes were pretty shouty. I usually run some version of Mullards.
I also had the pleasure at a local dealer event of speaking to Luke Manley. I asked some tough questions and he answered politely with much knowledge and experience. It was after that I bought the 6.5 II. The dealer said put Mullards in it as had one of the owners in his 7.5 II which I had heard.
Y'all take care:-)
I bought my first VTL amplifiers circa 1988, when David Manley was still at the helm. I have had several VTL models over the years, culminating in TP6.5, TL7.5 III and Siegfried II monoblocks. The sound is effortless, the soundstaging is realistic and convincing. The bass control and speed is exceptional. I have found Luke and Bea to be exceptionally knowledgeable and passionate advocates for tube amplification and accurate musical reproduction. Price is often confused with Value. The latter only becomes apparent over time, when the enjoyment can be measured against the overall cost. I consider them an investment and a very enjoyable one at that.
