VPI Announces Model One: First Forever Series Turntable
VPI Industries, the New Jersey–based high-performance turntable maker, has introduced the Model One as the first offering in its new Forever Series. The new design emphasizes modularity and upgradability, allowing users to adapt their systems over time.
Motor Drive and Platter Module
At the heart of the Model One is the Motor Drive and Platter Module, designed for both high performance and flexibility. Mounted on an aluminum plate with a resonance-damping layer, this module minimizes vibrations. It features a 300rpm belt-drive motor (500rpm in regions with 230V power) equipped with a two-speed pulley for accurate speed control. The "Forever Platter" is a 2″-thick, 12″-diameter component utilizing an inverted bearing design to reduce friction and enhance rotational stability.
New VPI S-Tonearm Module
A highlight of the Model One is the new VPI S-Tonearm Module with its enhanced precision and high build quality. Constructed from solid aluminum, the tonearm eliminates tube resonances. It offers azimuth adjustment at the headshell and vertical tracking adjustment in the arm base for precise calibration.
The tonearm employs ABEC 5 bearings for smooth, low-friction movement in both horizontal and vertical planes. Internal wiring runs continuously from the headshell to the RCA connection to maintain signal integrity.
Tonearm Specifications:
Three-point floating suspension system
Available options include a hinged dust cover and a blank armboard for further customization. The Model One's modular architecture ensures that users can service, adjust, or upgrade the system as new technologies or preferences emerge. The Model One comes with a 10-year warranty, underscoring VPI's confidence in the product's durability.

The Model One introduces a three-point floating suspension system utilizing polymers to isolate the turntable from external vibrations. This design is said to enhance stability and reduce interference from motor noise. The suspension is fully adjustable for leveling, and the modular construction allows for easy replacement or upgrading of key components.
