I heard this room twice. It sounded just magnificent. The played a DG recording of Beethoven's 7th by the Berlin Philharmonic. It was spell-binding. I couldn't leave until the piece was finished. It was really nice sounding. Jason was right about the string sound - it was right on. As a subscriber to the St. Louis Symphony I know what massed strings sound like, and the Vandy's got it as close as anything else I heard at AXPONA.
As for bass, I didn't note any muddiness at all, but setup in all these rooms is problematic. The smaller rooms had a lot more problems than the big rooms in the conference center, but I guess that is to be expected. An Audiokinesis SWARM distributed subwoofer system and Meridian Room Correction would have helped nearly every exhibitor at this show, but hardly anyone (outside of the TAS's Robert Greene) has even heard the SWARM. Too bad.
