Motet: PS Audio, Accuphase, Lumin, Kimber Kable, Quadraspire - Toronto Audiofest 2024

All prices listed in CA$.

You want big-toned, vivid, seemingly effortlessly dispersed sound with a knack for delivering some of the most stable and incisively air-sculpted, but not fatiguing, imaging I've heard at the show? Then step right up, into the Motet room, which was showcasing a powerful system comprising a pair of PS Audio ASPEN FR30 speakers ($40,000/pair), two 65Wpc, class-A Accuphase A-80 power amplifiers in bridged mode ($28,000/each), an Accuphase C-2300 preamplifier ($15,000), a Lumin P1 streamer ($13,500), a PS Audio PowerPlant 20 AC regenerator ($15,000), with cabling by Kimber Kable and stands by Quadraspire.

I'm sure this system can play softly and delicately, but it seemed in its element playing in one of the show's conference rooms, which it filled up with bold, larger-than-life pictures and music that was exciting, layered, and brimming with activity, detail, and a sense of unfettered energy.

I would far prefer Audiophase gear with those PS Audio speakers than the PS Audio system I normally hear it with.

While the PS Audio electronics are great, I would be far more juiced to hear this.

It’s seems you’ve missed that disclaimer on a couple posts. The Aspen FR30 is for sale right now on PS Audio’s website for $30k USD.

You get the next best thing, ribbons or planer upper range drivers.

my son and i though this room was by and far not what we expected no based on the accuphase electronics we have heard many times before.....and not in a good way.....the sound was bright, lacked clarity, and was lacking front to back dimensions despite having wonderful transient attack and dynamics...not fatiguing you write?? you must have been there on the Sunday perhaps after the system settled down??
