Meet the new boss: Harman Specialty Group, the division of Harman Consumer Group responsible for the Mark Levinson, Revel, and Lexicon brands, has a new president. John Batliner is a 12-year veteran of the company, and, most recently, executive vice-president of HSG. Wayne Morris, current president of the company, will remain active until the end of April.

New requests: ReQuest, Inc. has announced new models and upgrades in its operating system software. An all-new reference music server, the S-Series S4.2500, which offers digital audio output as well as three additional balanced analog outputs, will be able to store over 2400 CDs in uncompressed WAV files in its 1.5 terabyte storage section. SRP is $18,000.

The new F-Series F4.800 will store 800 uncompressed CDs' worth of WAV files or up to 400 CDs in 320kbps MP3 files. SRP is $7000.

Also announced were an upgrade to the VideoReQuest operating system to version 1.4 and enhancements to ReQuest's remote communications ARQLink Pro system, which allows dealers and installers remote access to customers' system hardware from anywhere in the world for maintenance, upgrades, or servicing.
