A Scanner Darkly

A Scanner Darkly

In FilmMaker, Scott Macauley has written a spirited preview/interview of Richard Linklater's A Scanner Darkly, which he says is the first faithful film based on a Philip K. Dick novel. I hope so, because the early trailer I saw had an overly-rotoscoped look that I didn't simply hate, I detested. Macauley makes me want to see the movie anyway.

Which discs would you...

...most like to have been better engineered/produced/recorded?

I ask this because I was reading a review of yet another Nick Drake biography and got to thinking about how much I like his records, but how lousy they sound. I think they used the sound on his discs to invent the sound of "digititis" once they came up with the idea of digital recording and needed a new type of recording artifact.
