Bringing Home the Macon

Bringing Home the Macon

The zeppelin USS MACON crashed and sank in 1935.Now MBARI, NOAA, and the US Navy are collaborating on mapping the airship's final resting place and discovering its missing tail fin. Be sure to check out the photo gallery for the shot of the Macon over Manhattan.

I Don't Believe "DUP" Actually Exists

Mystery solved! All indications are that there is no such person as "DUP." These forums get a little dull sometimes so JA and the editorial team came up with a computer construct designed to keep things lively. The program is simply written to negate any other opinion.

The evidence is overwhelming. Those poorly "photoshopped" pictures of the Sterophile crew supposedly checking out "DUP's" system was the first clue. Sure that really happened. And Derek Jeter dropped by my place to give my kid some pointers on playing shortstop.

Speaker and Amplifier Choice to use with Rega Apollo

Forums

Hi all,

I'm currently building/upgrading my Hi-Fi system. My room is a rectangular shaped 15*12 feet (4.5m*3.5m)with the hi-fi and HT systems placed in the middle of the longer side. The distance between the main speakers is 8ft (2.5m) if necessary I listen mostly classical but also rock and jazz.

So, I began building the system from the digital source, which is a lovely Rega Apollo

Mapleshade - Recordings, Tweaks galore, and Equipment

Just entered another order for Mapleshade recordings - five CD's for forty-eight bucks. Never have bought a recording from them that I haven't kept and enjoyed despite their "return it if you don"t like it" policy. Also just finished reading through all of Pierre Sprey's "free upgrades" (tweaks, if you will) and reviewing all of the offerings for cables, interconnects, power cords, etc. Sprey has to be one of the of the top ten "tweakers", and now and then I agree with one of his - for example, I too think tweeters should be a little higher than ear level.
