ATC Users

Forums

Hi all, I'm considering to buy SCM19 of the ATC. Unlike the most of the ATC's this beauty is for home usage and a passive speaker. I'll drive this speaker with an AVR until I can afford an appropriate stereo amplification system (a few months). In the specifications of the speaker, an amplification power of 50-300W is recommended. Well, already most of the amplifiers are in that range I think.

Monoblocks tweaks

Hi there,

I am new to this forum and also new to this high end stuff, got a question and hope one of the experts can answer, I have 2x Roksan monoblocks and Roksan pre amp, I am not sure where to position the monoblocks in relation with the speakers, shall i just leave them on the equipment rack together with the cd player and the preamp, or get a long interconnect and have each monoblock by the loudspeaker?

amplifier compatibility

Forums

Hi, I've read both Avantgarde horn speakers and McIntosh amplifiers reviews on the magazine. Has anyone tried them together? The reason of asking is Avantgarde advises users to buy amps with zero or very low negative feedback due to its high efficiency. They say the noise may be heard via the sensitive speaker which is caused by the amp feedback.

Any advise? I really like them both.

Help me spend some money...

I've got between $2000 to $3000 to spend on a new pair of floorstanding speakers, though the less I can spend on the speakers the better. My local hi-end audio stores carry Dynaudio, B&W, Paradigm and Totem. What would you guys recommend in that price range? Should I be scouting out other brands? I'm pretty much set on Rotel for amps/pre-amps, but I'm still looking into companies for a CD component.
