OK so I've got my new setup running. PSB Alpha T1s, Anti-cables, Onkyo 7555 CD and 9555 amp, Rega p1. I'm sort of loving it right now, and have been itchy to start experimenting (does this mean I've got the hifi "bug"?).

For about a year now I've either had an intermittent problem or an intermittent psychosis, and it's turning out to be really difficult to tell which one it is:

The sound from my system is often dry, reedy, really unpleasant -- even my girlfriend can hear it -- and the problem seems to be of an electrical nature. There's a sort of a buzzing noise through the upper midrange and low treble -- sort of the audio equivalent of those little trickles we used to see on the television when dad was running the electric carving knife in the next room.

I just bought a used record that always skips at the exact same spot and the only way to get it to stop is to bump it.
Although, I don't know how good of an idea that is.
Anyway, I wanted to know if there is anyway to fix this? or am I doomed to having to bump my TT every time I listen to it?

This might belong in another forum, but here goes... I have an ancient Denon DP-37F TT, that is used many times on a daily basis. I have a rather large collection of vinyl (~5,000) that I listen to all the time. Although my wife would like to ditch the records, and proceed straight to divorce court, I plan on continuing the quest for audio heaven.

Recently, I bought a record clamp, a Zerodust stylus cleaner, and I already have a VPI 16.5 record vacuum. Are there any other ways to goose my old 'table into providing the best sound?

I just came accross a pair of these amps today. Does anyone know anything about them? I can't seem to find any reviews at all. The guy I was talking with at the shop said they could be used In a Bi-amp configuration. Any thoughts? From what I read they were made In the 70's
