One sometimes-touted reason to own a turntable is to listen to the ever-shrinking universe of albums that have never been released digitally. Yet, I do not think I have ever run into one. 1) Would it be a good idea to make the mid/high absorbers at first reflection points as 4" thick plain OC703 panels as it would increase the low frequency absorption. Or for the fact that these panels are in the walls (as opposed to corners) they will not be effective as bass traps.
2) Could someone also explain me why the lower frequency sounds gather up at corners?

Does changing the platter on a TT alter the cartridge's alignment if the platter is thinner? I'm replacing the MDF platter on my Rega P2 with a glass one.
EDIT: I guess because the MDF platter has a recess, and the glass does not, I imagine that they are the same effect height. Does this sound right?
