I recently got a used Exposure Super XV integrated amp. It would not turn on, so I had it repaired at a stereo repair shop. It turns on now and plays music, but immediately after powering on, even without music playing, it emits through the speakers a horribly loud, constant buzzing/humming sound. Loud enough that it actually hurts my ears (i.e. not a slight background noise). I tried moving around the cables some; making sure the power cord does not touch the speaker wires, but it had no effect.
Any thoughts? Perhaps the amp is still broken or they did not fix something?

So far I am loving my Rega P-1. I just got 180G vinyl of Dark Side of the Moon and Dave Masons first solo album and they sound great. However I was wondering if someone could answer these questiins
-How long should a cartridge and stylus last with moderate play?
-Where can I go to get a stylus brush and LP cleaning (online)
-As you upgrade in cartridges what is the primary improvements (i.e. sound?
For the record this thread isn't intended as a bragging thread or a how big is my d!CK vs. your d!ck battle. It's meant more as a background thread so that we all can understand better where each other is coming from when giving and getting advice. For example if someone says, "I auditioned the XYZ-7000 Mark II and it was to bright" but it's obvious from looking at their choice of gear that they prefer warm sounding Hi-Fi that puts their comments into the proper context. Similar to the section where reviews list the associated equipment.
I'm in the market for a new cd player and welcome your suggestions. Looking for a single-disc player under $300.
Thank you.
