I recently bought Raising Sand, the collaboration between Robert Plant and Allison Krauss, and it's, well....pretty wonderful. I can see why it won a Grammy for Album of the Year. And it's available as an LP!
If it's not a record to die for, it should be....certainly is in my book. One of the best albums I've bought all year, along with Melody Gardot's Worrisome Heart.
Along with Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" Pearl Jam's debut album "Ten" helped define a musical generation. According to the band's siteMarch 24th will see the re-release of the album in no fewer than FOUR editions. Anyone who considers themselves a Pearl Jam fan that isn't excited by the Super Deluxe Edition should check their pulse, because there is a good chance they have died and no one has bothered to notice yet:

Also, I find it very unlikely that Klipsch ever produced over 200,000 units of any one model of loudspeaker; do you have some actual figures from them?
Why would you doubt a speaker line that's been around since the 1940's would not have sold 200k of any one model? No one is disputing the popularity of the Vandersteen but there are several speaker models that have been around far longer than the 2C.

Understaffed Geithner "The Tax Evader" can't keep up, critics sayBy DANIEL WAGNER
The Associated Press
Thursday, March 5, 2009; 10:27 AMWASHINGTON -- For five weeks, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner has battled the worst economic crisis in generations with no key deputies in place. That's made for a rocky debut for the man President Barack Obama put in charge of addressing the financial crisis.
Hola,
For myrtle wood block users, have you guys noticed any block to block variation?
In the pic, there is that one piece in the back that seems like it would be very different from its bretheren.
Besides block to block variability, how about variation based on the orientation of the block?
Lots of variables: Long axis aligned with long axis of the gear, or perpendicular, or with the block 'laid flat,' on it's side, or 'tall wise.'
Over the past few weeks I have been listening to my library of SACD's and have to say that the sound and imagery are amazing an almost like being there at the recording session. With the record business hurting so much I am not sure that I understand why there are so many titles that are NOT available on SACD and why it's not promoted more? Sure there are a LOT of titles at Amazon but some are out of print and cost close to $100 now.
