Greetings all, I'm a newbie in the world of stereophile in search of wise guidances. Recently been planning to upgrade my cans but can't decide between two choices: AKG K601 and Grado SR80I. I mostly listen to MP3/AAC files from my laptop/MP3 player and my only headphone amp currently is the budget Fiio E5 (will try to upgrade this to Graham Slee Voyager when my budget allowed...). Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Thanks
We have an FYE in the mall in my small town, and twice in the last few months I've found what looks to be remaindered Milestone/Prestige/Contemporary box sets dirt cheap.
I got Art Pepper's 'Complete Village Vanguard Sessions' for $29 bucks a while back, and just today found Joe Henderson's 8 cd 'Milestone Years' for the same price.
FYE really doesn't carry jazz, so I have to believe this is some kind of warehouse or distributor dump. If you have one near, you might want to check it out.

I've owned 'Memories:The 68 Comeback Special' two cd set for a couple of years now, but had no idea RCA put out a four cd set last August that has both sitdown/standup shows complete, plus both rehearsals.
I immediately bought it, and I gotta say that even if you're not an Elvis completist or obsessive, the big set is worth owning. I'd put the comeback special as one of the three or four greatest moments evah in popular music, and - unlike some albums where every new scrap makes the original seem less, not more - the expanded album is just better.
