I have two audio systems in my home...one is 100% music and has the best stuff I can afford and the other is built around my video system, includes vinyl, and only has high end affectations in its above radio shack cable selections. This system had an ancient Sony WEGA 27" TV as the video source. Well, it has been dying for months and this week it went. We have house guests and they asked when I replaced the big old TV with a tiny 13" TV while waiting for the flat panel from Amazon.com, why the music was so much better. I hadn't noticed but it really was.

Back to the days when loudspeaker specs told you everything you need to know; http://www.stereophile.com/standloudspeakers/yamaha_ns-1000_loudspeaker/index1.html
Im looking to set up my first 'listening room' on somewhat of a budget though.
I need some help deciding on my speakers. I'm looking at:
Infinity Primus P252
Boston Acoustics CS-226
Polk Audio Monitor 60
Sony SS-F7000
I'm most likely pairing these with a Pioneer VSX-519V-K
Which of these are my best bets or are there any other speakers and/or receivers I should be looking at?
a friend of mine became a legacy dealer this week. he toured the factory and brought home a set of Whispers. I helped him unload so was there when he hooked up his 8 watt custom made Morrow Audio SET mono blocks. If you want to see unusual design in a very large speaker, check out their website. Anyway, right out of the box, the sound was smooth and mellow. Just a little down on bass, but the 8 15" woofers were brand new and it was an SET. I had also brought over an Arcam P80 stereo amp that I no longer use, so we hooked that budget solid state amp up (65w 8ohm, 105w 4ohm).
