Obama Sides with RIAA, MPAA; Backs ACTA
posted by Thom Holwerda on Fri 12th Mar 2010 23:18 UTC
And thus, our true colours reveal. Since Obama was the young newcomer, technically savvy, many of us were hoping that he might support patent and/or copyright reform. In case our story earlier on this subject didn't already tip you off, this certainly will: Obama has sided squarely with the RIAA/MPAA lobby, and backs ACTA. No copyright and/or patent reform for you, American citizens!

Sure seems like it might apply to audio, too.
I took my kids to Zia for to pick up the new Gorillaz CD....and found some old Bob Dlyan CD's I only have on vinyl.
Slow Train Coming
Infidels
Street Legal
Desire
Oh Mercy
3.99 each, one of them for free 'cause I hit my Zia magic number....
Got 'em home....and they are SACD's!
My reaction?
Damn, I left Blood on the Tracks behind and now I'm 600 miles away.
Am I celebrating a happy find? No, I am an audiophile and I am mourning the one that got away.
Oh, well.
I would like to adress you all a question, altough I am almost sure it has been a subject of debate in the past here.
Why do you think most of audio systems are so expensive?
Is it beacause of the craftship, the inner components and the costs of production or is it because no matter how high, there are some people out there willing to pay the price?
Thank you!
