Meridian Sooloos Media Source 600

Here is the back panel view of the Media Source 600 which acts as a network endpoint and DAC for your most critical listening zone in a Meridian Sooloos system. It can be combined with the Media Core 600 in an elaborate multi-room network.

It has both balanced and unbalanced outputs in addition to Meridian SpeakerLink.

Channel D - PureMUSIC

I have a MAC Mini with an external 2TB Firewire drive that I'm using for a music server.

I have been running iTunes and listening to music, using my iPad as a "remote" with the app. I also stream with 3 different AppleTVs to different locations in the house. I have the Mac Mini in my home theater in the basement.

Audience's The One ClairAudient

Audience's The One ClairAudient

It was a pleasure to finally meet Audience’s John McDonald, who beamed with energy, pride, and happiness over his new Audience The One ClairAudient loudspeaker ($995/pair), seen here alongside Audience’s own A3 drive unit, which uses a relatively large neodymium motor structure and voice coil, suspension venting, and is said to provide 12mm of usable excursion with less than 1dB compression.

CEntrace DACMini PX & Masterclass Speakers

Displaying near the registration booth at T.H.E. Show, CEntrance, makers of the excellent DACport USB-input headphone amplifier, introduced their new DACMini PX (price hasn’t been determined, but CEntrance’s Michael Goodman noted the company is looking to keep it “aggressively under $1500”), which combines the same array of inputs (USB, coaxial, optical, line) and line outputs found on the company’s DACMini CX ($795, now in final production) while adding speaker connectors and a 25Wpc Class-D amplifier section.

Cardas Caps on unused RCA Inputs and Outputs

There's a discussion on AA regarding the use of Cardas Caps and similar devices to cover the openings of unused input and output RCA jacks of electronic equipment to deal with the problemm of RF entering the component via the open jacks. One person, the OP, reported a noticeable improvement by placing paper tape over all unused input and output jacks on his components. He then tried attaching small amethyst crystals over the open jacks instead of paper tape and reported much better results.

Flamingos at the Fabulous Flamingo

Flamingos at the Fabulous Flamingo

T.H.E. Show was held at the famous Flamingo Hotel and Casino, the oldest resort on The Vegas Strip, opened by Benjamin “Bugsy” Siegel on the day after Christmas in 1946. On the site’s 15 acres, you can find lots of glitter, gold, and rich history, in addition to a wildlife habitat with an exhibit of flamingos!

Entry Level Studio Monitors

HI all,
I'm looking forward to buy a pair of entry-level studio monitors.
I'm interseted in the JBL LSR2325P (http://www.jblpro.com/catalog/General/Product.aspx?PId=280&MId=5)
and in the Genelec 6010A (http://www.genelec.com/6010a/specs/)

I can get both pair at the same price. I have a small room that is very bassy. I listend both and I enjoyed the power of the JBL as well as their flatness. I believe the genelec don't have enough bass.

I simply would like to have a second opinion.

Thanks

Liberals love plays and movie scripts about assassination

They call it arts. Liberal arts. I majored in liberal arts. I don't celebrate plays and movies about imaginary assassinations of people liberals don't agree with any more than I do this cock sucking freak that shot the congress woman in the fucking face, shot down a child, and a few others including a sitting federal judge. You guys wanted to see something like this happen to real human beings well you got it. Satisfied? Feel like it is art? How about reform? How about repeal. Listening now?

Furutech rips vinyl and plays files with the GT40

I’m sure I’ve never said to myself, “I want a combination USB DAC/phono stage/headphone amp,” but as soon as I saw one I sure did. Furutech’s Alpha Design Labs GT40, see in preproduction form at the 2010 CES, will rip your vinyl or play your computer files at up to 24bit/96kHz with USB convenience, and includes a headphone amp with volume control making for a dandy little LP transcription system.
