A $279 Speaker
This morning, JA came in and happily announced that he'd finished writing his review of the PSB Alpha B1 loudspeakers. I won't tell you what he said about them, but I will tell you that he suggested that I give them a listen, too. John will be bringing them into the office next week, and I'll be taking them home.
I had been thinking of requesting a pair of the oh-so-very-cute Neat Acoustics Motive 2s ($1995/pair), or maybe even something weird like the Duevel Planets ($1195/pair), both speakers being small floorstanders with prices comparable to the Totem Arros ($1200/pair). But an affordable bookshelf speaker like the Alpha B1 ($279/pair) is really the way for me to go, I think. I'm looking forward to listening.
A $249 Earphone
This afternoon, we were visited by Kathy Riley and Chris Lyons of Shure, along with Gretchen Bender of Greenough Communications. It was a pleasure. They dropped by to tell us all about Shure's new SE line of earphones. I won't tell you what they said about them — not until tomorrow, that is — but I will tell you that they left a few review samples with us. I'll be taking home the SE310 ($249.99). I'm looking forward to listening.
