let me recommend to you the Holmes brothers. These guys, actual brothers, have been playing a bvlend of gospel, soul, funk and country for decades. It shows. They do killer arrangements and lay them down with authority. A good starting place would be State of Grace. The songs are sung with such feeling, it is really touching.
The bros do a slow version of I Want You to Want Me that focuses on the yearning of the lyrics. I never knew that was in there till I heard these guys sing it. Ditto with Peace, Love and Understanding, except I knew there was a killer slow version of that song waiting to be done.
God Will, which closes the festivities, is worth the price of admission. I do not want to say more for fear of losing the initial impact of the song. Here is a link to I Want You to Want me from Youtube.

You know you are in for something special when the song starts with some Floyd Kramer style piano. Really. Goosbump material if you love soul music.
