Gibboni and the Gibbon: At Stereo Exchange’s annual Spring High-End Audio Show, Roger Gibboni (left) of Rogers High Fidelity debuted his EHF-200 Mk.II tubed integrated amplifier. Meanwhile, DeVore Fidelity’s John DeVore provided two surprising NYC debuts: the new three-way Gibbon X loudspeaker and a two-way mohawk.
Stereo Exchange’s annual Spring High-End Audio Show was held Friday, April 12, through Sunday, April 14, at 627 Broadway in Manhattan’s bustling SoHo neighborhood. This app includes all current Recomended Components as listed in the recent issue of Stereophile as well as additional ratings and listings that could not fit in the print version. There are over 700 component rankings in all and the app is compatible with all iPad hardware versions including retina displays. Search and Full Reviews
Each component is ranked and most include links directly to the full review on Stereophile.com. The app also allows you to sort by component category and features quick search. Tagged Items
An additional app feature is the ability to "tag" any item in the listing to create your own curated list of items for future reference. You can add and delete items from this list as needed. Just tap the "checkmark" graphic next to each entry to add it to your list. Due to the immense amount of text in the Recommended Components, we don't have an iPhone version at this time. However, we will continue to update the Stereophile Recommended Components iPad app with new features and ratings additions and welcome your comments.

Stereophile Special Issue: 10 Years of Records to Die For
Available on newsstands and the Stereophile online Shop this week is a special 148-page "Collector's Edition" of Stereophile, in which we have compiled all of the reviews comprising the past 10 years' worth of R2D4some 500 albums selected by 46 writers, organized by musical genre and listed alphabetically. Along with six short essays on recorded music by the magazine's music editor, Robert Baird, there are: 48 pages of Rock reviews, 20 pages of Jazz reviews, 15 pages of Opera & Vocal reviews, 14 pages of Classical Orchestral & Film Score reviews, 9 pages of Chamber Music & Instrumental reviews, and 10 pages of Folk, Blues & World Music reviews.
Stereophile Writers at Cornell
Stereophile's senior contributing editor, Michael Fremer, and the magazine's editor at large, Art Dudley, are both giving presentations this spring at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. Michael appears on Tuesday, March 28, followed two weeks later, on April 11, by Art Dudley.

Today, Stereophile announces its first major Editorial changes in decades, with an expansion of the Editorial team and a change in leadership.
Since 1986, through many generations of corporate ownership, John Atkinson (right, above) has been the Editor and bedrock of the magazine. After nearly 331/3 years, JA has decided to relinquish daily responsibility for producing the magazine and as of April 1 will take on a new (and newly established) position: Technical Editor. Stepping into his shoes as Editor will be long-time Stereophile contributor Jim Austin (left above).

Stereovox's Totally Tubular Cables
Stereovoxhttp://www.stereovox.com">Stereovox; has introduced a more affordable Studio series of cables to complement its extravagant Reference products. The new Studio HDSE (high-definition single-ended) interconnects are thin and flexible, but each cable is constructed from a single high-purity 0.008" thick copper tube, clad in a silver-plated copper woven shield, with pure tape-wrapped full-density PTFE Teflon dielectric and an FEP jacket. The Studio cables employ a new chrome-plated Xhadow™ Reference precision-machined RCA connector.
