I've never used anything but stock power cords. I'm intrigued by the Shunyata Venom $99 cord that is supposedly a low-price introduction to the difference a quality cord can make. With this price and a money-back guarantee I'm going to try it out. My question is where in the system would the cord be expected to make the most improvement: DAC? Transport? Pre-Amp? Phono stage? Or am I falling victim to the hype?
Thanks.

I have a relatively small system which consists of receiver,DVD,CD,equalizer, turntable and VCR player mostly Denon components. Anyway I'm in need of some interconnect audio cables, good quality and "INEXPENSIVE" I don't need a set of $100.00 per set. I want nice custom made lengths NOT 1 meter which is all I see. Why on earth would I need something to connect that's 12" away and have 3' of cable hanging out the back of my little setup. I don't need spaghetti hanging down to the floor which I already have with the cheap cables that came with some of my components.
I have been reading Stereophile for 4 or 5 years now and I have noticed that inexpensive components, especially speakers, are regularily evaluated. I do not remember seeing tests for the less expensive universal cd players. I would like to suggest that Stereophile take a look at something like the relatively new Denon DVD 1920. I realize this is also a DVD player, but I am unaware of any universal player in that price range that does not include DVD playback. It would be interesting to see if acceptable SACD\DVD-Audio sound is now available at a lower cost.
