I know, I know, there's an obvious answer to this question. But it is too simple for me to figure out. I'm shopping for a set of 3-way speakers and I've looked at many - PSB, B&W, Revel and others. All of these brands have models, in various price ranges, with 2 woofers. I'm making the ASSumption that this is just a design choice (or gimmick) and doesn't necessarily have anything to do with how the speaker actually sounds. For example: I've listened to a 2 woofer model then a single woofer model, by the same manufacturer, and the single woofer sounds better. Is this a design issue?

A Chicago Tribune columnist, lamenting the passing of his favorite source for classical recordings - Tower Records, suggested that Tower's founder, Russ Solomon, was working on a new and smaller chain to be called Resurrection Records. Does anyone here know any more about this?

I am thinking about buying a pair of used JM labs Electra 936 speakers. I am wondering if any of you can share with me your experience. I would also want to get suggestions on an amplifier which can drive the speakers well. Thanks.

I've allways wanted to check this with other audiophiles.
Has anyone else who was/is involced in home-theater as well as hi-fi found out that all laserdisc players make perfect cd transports ?I've owned 3 laserdisc players(i still have the 2 latest ones),all Pioneers,2 European models,a cld-1740
a cld-2950 and a US model Elite cld-99.I do not remember how the cld-1740 sounded but the other two beat my then cd transport (Audiolab).The differences were like night and day

Just got some Anti-Cables which are replacing my XLO Sig

The Anti-Cables sound better to me in every way. Cheapest upgrade I ever did, especially after I sell the XLO.

Hooked up all the video feeds thru my NAD T773 and the picture quality is poor. If I direct feed into the TV everything is fine. Is there some way to tune this?
