Audio Concepts Houston - March 10th

The Houston Audio Society will meet at Houston's oldest high end audio store, Audio Concepts, to hear the Vandersteen speakers. Audio Concepts displays the complete line, and we will focus our listening on the 5A, the Quatro, and the 3A Signature. The meeting is Saturday, March 10th, from 10 AM to Noon, and we'll meet for lunch at a nearby restaurant afterward.

Not too many people know this about him &#151; not even his closest friends, not even his mother, not even his wife &#151; but John Atkinson, editor of <i>Stereophile</i>, is a huge fan of The Fucking Champs. In fact, JA sent me this clip1.

advice on unleashing computer audio

Hi, binary brethren! I've been examining my options for computer audio recently. I'm a card-carrying (student ID?) member of the iPod generation, so computer-based digital audio is nothing new to me. I have a substantial (>100GB) music library and manage it with iTunes. Currently, I've been upgrading my stereo, as some of you who have read my posts asking for turntable and amplifier recommendations may recall. I've experimented with a couple ways to connect my computer to my system. I tried the painfully muddy Behringer UCA-202 USB I/O interface.

Integrated Amps with HT Bypass?

Forums

I'm looking to purchase an integrated amplifier to match with a pair of Paradigm Studio 20s. I would like to limit my search to those with HT bypass, throughput, pass-thru, or whatever it's being called these days.

My budget is around 1K used so any models that retail for 1500-2000 might be ok too.

It's hard to find a list of amps with this feature so I'd like to hear about any models that have an HT bypass, even if your not too keen on the sound.

Thanks for any and all input.
