I find it very suspicious. Gordon Hold departure of Stereophile coincidented with Mickey Fremer arrival. Gordon fought for the CD, contrary to The Absolute Sound. John himsel pushed SACD heavily. I am sure Gordon found the hiring of MF from TAS disingenous, a commercial hoax. In many regards I find MF representing just himself in Stereophile, Stereophile's clown to drumm up a specific class of customers. But then, like in a farce, Gordon left fot TAS.

With your web site you did much better than the Absolute Sound (who did nothing at all) but by far you did not do as well as you should have done you and The Ultimate AV compared to places like the AVS Forum whose moderating is sub par, to say the least (they have policemen, not moderators), with the exception of their computer board. You failed in advertising and your forum is largely irrelevant, although it should be thriving by now. Your web based ad section totally colapsed as well.

To all Stereophile's readers. May your music not be too much of a distraction from the serious business of demolishing a turkey with all the trimmings.

Several months ago Sony released two DVD / SACD players for the car - but they have been poorly announced in general.

Perhaps the most important thing people are missing is that because these players are DVD players as well, almost ALL surround discs can be played. Not only surround (multichannel) SACDs, but any DVD-Video or DVD-Audio disc with a Dolby Digital or DTS surround mix can also be played, as well as the handful of DTS discs.

I am completely new to these forums and I'm really not sure if this is the right type of place to ask (the forums are for audio stuff right? heh) but I'll try it anyways.

I am looking to buy some new 5.1 computer speakers/home theater system for my computer. So far I have come across a lot of different systems, of which I have really liked the kipsch promedia ultra (though it got discontinued) and the logitech z5500 (which seems to have gotten really good reviews).
