John Atkinson is not impressed due to inconsistent performance of Benchmark Media DAC1 USB when playing 16 bit, 44.1 kHz files via USB. Where is the jitter performance via USB? Was it too bad to publish?
Last time I believe John Atkinson preferred TosLink to USB performance of Bel Canto e.One DAC3 due to quality and high jitter via USB.
I think only PS Audio DAC III is left now. Does anybody know about its jitter performance?
I'm considering replacing my NAD c740 receiver with one of these. Speakers are Wharfendale Diamonds, 9.6 model. Which one would you suggest.. and why? And oh, I listen to all kinds of music.. so mostly I'm looking for a neutral sounding amp without preferences towards certain kinds of music.
The reason I'm replacing my NAD c740 is mainly that it seems to suffer from some bad glare when I turn the volume knob up for listening to metal.
Hola,
I was hanging out at one of the wine forums and there was a topic asking what Hi Fi gear people had.
There was a reasonable response, but I came across this one, and it bummed me out:
"I used to be really into audio and had an all-Linn hardware system with Nordost cables:
- Unidisk 2.1
- Exotik preamp
- LK140 power
- Ninka loudspeakers
- Nordost Flatline MK II speaker cable (bi-wired)
- Nordost Baldur interconnects
Are there "tricks" to setting up the Multi-room setting on an HK247? I have verfied that the 2nd room speakers function (by switching them with the main R/L speakers), that the line I'm sending to the 2nd room speakers (VIDEO1) functions (by making that the primary output line to main speakers), and that the Multi Room setting is ON. However, I've never been able to hear anything through the 2nd room speakers on the multiroom setting.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I cannot see anything I'm doing wrong from the manual directions.
