Luke Manley was right when he recommended against using a power conditioner with VTL preamps. A buddy of mine bought the Shinyata Hydra 8 and he hooked up his DCS stack (Verdi, Purcell, Elgar Plus)to it. Music sounded compressed, boxed in and small. Once he hooked up the stack straight into the wall, everything opened up. Guess what's going on sale. PM me if you want it. I'll pass it along.

Here's a company making a wingback chair.
Looks like it could deal with first reflections. As it is a brand new company, they just might be open to customizing by adding super-sound-absorbent material in the wings?

Converting vinyl into digital - hardware and software ???
Hi there!
I'm brand new to this site and had posted the same question in the 'Entry Level' section but realized that this section would be more appropriate.
I just bought myself a used starter turntable as well as came upon a very large collection of excellent records.
The only thing I was asked to do as a favour for the record collection was to do create a number of CDs from some of the records and tracks.
Why don't more audio manufacturers advertise in mainstream media?
JA and others frequently decry the lack of public awareness of quality audio. The industry must shoulder part of the blame for this situation, due to their failure to inform "the masses" of what is available. Most people do not read specialty audio magazines, and consequently the only brand they EVER see advertised is Bose.

Hey everybody. I currently want to set up a 2 channel system. I need two speakers, a power amp, pre amp or an integrated amp. My budget is around 3 grand and i'll be strictly listening to music with this system. Can anyone please help, there's a ton of different products out there and im really confused as to which would fit in best within my budget. Thanks all.
I am looking for a classic AM/FM Stereo receiver that I can pick up used on ebay for $200 or less. Would want a clean 80-100 watts per channel.
Also want to pick up a set of used B&W bookshelf speakers.
They will primarily be used for background music - not sitting and listening.
Suggestions on both would be appreciated.
