I am looking for a classic AM/FM Stereo receiver that I can pick up used on ebay for $200 or less. Would want a clean 80-100 watts per channel.
Also want to pick up a set of used B&W bookshelf speakers.
They will primarily be used for background music - not sitting and listening.
Suggestions on both would be appreciated.
Luke Manley was right when he recommended against using a power conditioner with VTL preamps. A buddy of mine bought the Shinyata Hydra 8 and he hooked up his DCS stack (Verdi, Purcell, Elgar Plus)to it. Music sounded compressed, boxed in and small. Once he hooked up the stack straight into the wall, everything opened up. Guess what's going on sale. PM me if you want it. I'll pass it along.
Here's a company making a wingback chair.
Looks like it could deal with first reflections. As it is a brand new company, they just might be open to customizing by adding super-sound-absorbent material in the wings?
Pipe and slippers not included
I have a onkyo 805 and mainly
used for music cds and dvds.
At this time i have a set
of polk RTi8.
Not very happy with them.
Looking to spend about $500.00
for a new pair of speakers
but have no idea on what to
buy.
Mainly listen to rock and heavy metal.
