For once just say...

Are you guy's nuts? $3,000 table radio, it doesn't play SACD, but it does DVD/A/V, why would a clock radio play DVD video? Where is it made? If it's China or any other low wage county, it's almost criminal to try and pass off teh $3,000 price....and teh reveiwer goes on a rant about surf, cooking, nothing about the product, for $3K, this is up there with $24K CD players....can Stereophile get some balls and once in a while call something absurdly useless. BLOSE has a tble radio, this makes them look like a bargain, at $399.

The Picture Disc Idea

The Picture Disc Idea

A couple of nights ago, I got this big idea that I'd go shopping for some picture disc vinyl to go along with the component we'll be featuring on our July cover. (Hint: It's not a speaker.) You know, I was thinking it'd be no problem to find Jimi Hendrix all lit up in a purple haze or, better yet, some new indie band dressed in skinny jeans and moccasins being chased by a puma, or something. But I discovered that new picture disc vinyl isn't all that easy to come by. Surprisingly, I found that today's picture discs come from three main sources:

Love, MERGE

Love, MERGE

To cheer myself up after the picture disc disappointment, I went ahead and bought <i>Attack & Release</i> by <a href="http://www.theblackkeys.com/">The Black Keys</a> and <i>Trouble In Dreams</i> by <a href="http://www.myspace.com/destroyer">Destroyer</a&gt;. Of course, I couldn't buy only two albums. Two is an even number, you see. So, I also picked up <a href="http://www.lightintheattic.net/">Light in the Attic</a>'s beautiful <i>Betty Davis</i> reissue.

Hard to drive loudspeakers

Forums

If you find out hard to drive loudspeakers the best thing you should do it's avoid them.

Today in 2008 a.c.is only the pubblicity that indicate you to buy these speakers.

Today it's esy to find out a loudspeaker with high quality level at 90db/w so use it.

Avoid speakers with less then 90db/w and over 93 db/w.

Only in small 2 way speakers is to consider for quality reasons speakers with 87 db/w.

But in 3 way design is true what I told before.

Others solutions let you throw money and get always insatisfaction loooking for the right amplifier.

When I first learned that Meridian had co-badged, with Ferrari, a $3000 table radio, I was tempted to cynically dismiss it as a marketing gimmick&mdash;an attempt by the audio manufacturer to leverage the brand loyalty of the Italian automaker to its own highly developed industrial designs. The problem was, that required that I dismiss everything I knew about Meridian and its singular head designer, <A HREF="http://www.stereophile.com/interviews/906bob">Bob Stuart</A>.
