I've been reading a lot of the posts in this forum and just want to say you guys seem like the nicest group of people. That being said, I'm going to post the standard "new to vinyl" story and ask for some advice

Okay, so I have had it with iTunes.

After deleting significant portions of my library on two occasions (see other thread about the 8-bit character 'Keep iTunes Music folder organized' bug), iTunes has decided to mess with me again.

Hoping you can help me, audiophile siblings. The culmination of SD's vinyl oddysey had me mentally compiling my list of 'all time' best vinyl front-ends, which took me back to 2002 and the Stereophile show at the Hilton in New York.

I run a two channel onkyo (tx8522) and infinity kappa 5.1 speakers. I'm looking to add a sub. My amp has no LFE so I need a sub that i can run speaker wire into and out of. I listen to lots of music and I want a fast sub. I'm willing to spend good money, 5 or 6 hundred on a used high quality unit. Reccomendations?

Hello , I am a first time poster to these forums.
I am looking to get a sound system to use for movies and music for around 1600. My space is not that large so I dont think I would like the look of tower speakers. I would prefer small footprint speakers like bookshelf speakers.

My plans so far:
Receiver: Yamaha RX-463 (5.1) - $300
Subwoofer: HSU STF-2 - $350
Speakers:
EMP EF30 Bookshelf Pair X 2 - $640
EMP EF30C Center - $190
Speaker stands X4 - $200
total: 1680

My dealer experiences over the last couple years:

1. The one who didn't seem interested in selling audio furniture to me - I walked in the door with my checkbook intending to purchase that day. The salesperson suggested it would be easier for me to just buy it off the internet somewhere else (so I did).
(no music playing in the store, just movies)
