My dealer experiences over the last couple years:

1. The one who didn't seem interested in selling audio furniture to me - I walked in the door with my checkbook intending to purchase that day. The salesperson suggested it would be easier for me to just buy it off the internet somewhere else (so I did).
(no music playing in the store, just movies)

2. A different branch of the one above. I went in to ask about a brand of headphones. They didn't carry them. So I walked around and looked at their other nice stuff. That was ok but I wondered why they didn't suggest another brand that they did carry. (no headphones on display)
(no music playing in the store; one movie playing with the sound turned off)

3. The overly friendly one - I was taken aback at the prematurely personal level of "service". After a few minutes I made an excuse to leave. I didn't want to establish a "dealer/customer relationship" that quickly.
(no music playing in the store)

4. The dealer with the Open House. Nice! Friendly, no pressure, and music playing! They were new to me; I'll think of them for any upcoming purchase.
